M22-14mm vs M22-15mm Pressure Washer Fittings
M22 describes the threaded connection family. The 14mm or 15mm designation refers to a separate sealing interface; two connectors may screw together without sealing correctly.
What the specifications show
| M22-14mm | Confirm the 14mm sealing interface, connector gender and the washer/gun specifications |
|---|---|
| M22-15mm | Confirm the 15mm sealing interface, connector gender and the washer/gun specifications |
How to choose
Identify both connection ends using the washer manual or dimensioned manufacturer specifications. Check seal type, pressure and temperature ratings. Do not use a fitting that leaks under pressure.
Models to compare
M22 fitting compatibility: a four-part verification
Use this decision framework to rule out unsuitable products before comparing price or availability. Unknown specifications should remain unknown until checked against a current manufacturer document.
Thread versus seal
M22 describes a thread family. The 14 mm and 15 mm terms identify a different part of the sealing geometry. A connector can begin threading yet still fail to seal. Treat both dimensions as separate checks.
Identify the equipment on both sides
Find the exact washer and spray-gun model numbers, not just the brand. Consult the manual or a dimensioned fitting drawing for each connection. Existing adapters can hide the original fitting, so inspect the full connection chain.
Measure only what the manufacturer specifies
A caliper can help distinguish dimensions, but a casual measurement of the outside of a nut does not identify its internal seal. Compare the measurement with a manufacturer drawing and confirm which surface is meant to be measured.
Do not improvise a seal
Avoid forcing threads, stacking random washers, or relying on tape to solve a sealing-diameter mismatch. If the manufacturer does not document the conversion, ask for a model-specific adapter recommendation before operating the machine.
| Question | What to record |
|---|---|
| Washer outlet | Exact model, fitting type, gender, sealing dimension |
| Gun inlet | Exact model, fitting type, gender, sealing dimension |
| Hose ends | Each connector independently; include any installed adapters |
| Operating limits | Working PSI and water temperature for the whole assembly |
Evidence and maintenance
Before publishing a model-specific recommendation, store the manufacturer source URL, model identifier, exact attribute, and date checked. Recheck when the manufacturer changes a listing or when a visitor reports a mismatch. Do not substitute Amazon listing titles for manufacturer confirmation of technical compatibility.
